Looking for ideas on how a nursing student maintains a self-care routine despite a rigorous schedule? You've come to the correct place because I'm about to show you some of my everyday activities as well as how I manage my hectic schedule and take care of myself. It may help drive you to become more organized. Before that, I'd like to introduce myself.

I'm Abegael A. Campos, a first-year nursing student at Davao Doctors College, Inc. I'm 18 years old, Bayugan City, our province, is where I was born and raised. The only reason I decided to leave our province was to become a nurse. I understand how difficult it is to do so because I spent most of my life in the province.

1. ORGANIZE SCHEDULE

First and foremost, I must understand my timetable, as our class times alter unexpectedly each week. I have to double-check it every night on Sunday because that is my only free time to recheck my schedules for the upcoming classes. From online classes to face-to-face, I need to acquire all of the information we need to do this week.

2. PREPARE NECESSARY THINGS

Following that, I will arrange all of the required supplies that I need to bring or purchase for the forthcoming lesson; we must always be prepared.

3. ARRANGE CLOTHES

I'm preparing all of the uniforms I'll be wearing for forthcoming classes, including the uniform, PE gear, and wash day attire. I need to decide on all of my outfits to ensure I have nothing to worry about what I'll be wearing the next day.

Now you know what I do when I have upcoming classes this week,I believe I ought to prepare ahead of time to avoid procrastination because, as a nursing student, you must be efficient and adept in dealing with situations like this. Now I'm going to share with you how I'm able to take care of myself in a hectic schedule.

Every morning, contingent on my schedule, I have to get up at 5 a.m. to get to school, which takes around 45 minutes to an hour. I sometimes drink coffee in the morning to improve my energy and help me start my day productively. I must remember that every morning, I take time to sit outside in a pleasant breeze and indulge myself with skincare to maintain my skin health.

After a hard day of school, I'll be home around 5 p.m. or 6 p.m. It also depends on my class schedule. Oftentimes I get home early. Sometimes I spent time alongside a friend going to the mall to get school supplies, going out, and having fun. Even though I am out enjoying my spare time, I am accountable for knowing when I should return home and study.

I normally study at night and complete all of my projects because I am a night owl, which means I am more confident in responding to all of the activities at night. And read all of my readings for the quiz tomorrow; however, this does not imply that I just read when there is a quiz; I also read ahead of time. However, there are occasions when I need to study dusk till daylight to refresh all of my readings. I feel most at ease with this way of study. We all study differently, and you will soon discover which method suits you best.

During online sessions, even if it is online, I must be responsible and flexible in any type of learning. Some people are easily distracted while they are online; others do not listen or sleep. I need to ensure that I am not sidetracked before the online lesson begins. I work out to stimulate my brain and eat food to avoid it.  After all of the sessions, if I had time, I used it to meditate on myself for a while to keep my brain rewinding, because it is important to take breaks to give ourselves the relaxation we require. It could also give me the energy I need to work harder on my homework and study more efficiently. Giving oneself time to reflect does not imply a waste of time; sometimes we must listen to ourselves because we may become exhausted and quit.

If you're wondering how I soothe and take good care of myself, I do various activities to keep myself entertained while avoiding stress. It was simple: I am easy to cheer up, I always reward myself with the things I deserve, such as going for a walk and indulging in activities that improve my health balance; chatting with the people I care about; and, finally, I am not scared to try new things. Sometimes it's only a matter of asking yourself what makes you happy. Others have their happiness, it could be buying material things, clothes, a collection of anime, or figurines but that doesn’t guarantee that you’ll feel the same satisfaction as them, make time for yourself as we’re not aging backward by this you’ll know what satisfies you.

But what I'm doing right now is one of my sources of happiness: deciding to pursue a career as a future nurse, making me feel hopeful that one day I'll be able to rescue someone.

But that doesn't mean everything's effortless for me; it's just that I handle it so well. It was difficult for me to become who I am today. I used to struggle with time management. I felt disappointed in myself because I couldn't handle those situations. People do, however, learn and develop from their mistakes; it simply takes time to understand this. Currently, cramming is not in my vocabulary. I refuse to let it happen again, like I did months ago. I got lost on the track. The earlier you do anything, the more chance you must proofread and correct it, so it is never too late.

That is what I do every day to stay organized and avoid hassles, but I understand that we cannot avoid troubles; it is preferable to tackle them early rather than procrastinate. That's all, and I'm going to conclude with a quote.

“Success is nothing more than a few simple disciplines, practiced every day”

Jim Rohn

“Without self-discipline. Success is impossible. Period.”

Lou Holtz
